Abstract

ACCURATE 2A Evaluation Board Project This project provides a complete open-hardware ecosystem for the ACCURATE 2A ASIC, a specialized integrated circuit developed at CERN for high-precision, ultra-low current measurements (sub-femtoampere range up to microampere range). The evaluation board serves as a reference design and development tool, simplifying the integration of the ASIC into scientific and industrial instrumentation. Key Features: Precision Measurement: Dual-mode measurement using Charge Injection or on-chip ADC. FPGA Control: On-board Lattice iCE40 Ultra (iCE5LP) handles critical timing and ASIC configuration (VHDL Gateware provided). Microcontroller: Microchip SAMD21 (ARM Cortex-M0+) manages high-level logic, sensor data aggregation, and USB communication. Peripherals: Includes SHT41 temperature/humidity sensor, DAC7578, and OLED display. Cross-Platform Software: A full-featured .NET/AvaloniaUI desktop application for Windows, Mac, and Linux provides real-time data plotting and analysis. This repository is a monorepo containing all design files: PCB schematics/layout (KiCad), FPGA gateware, MCU firmware, and the desktop software.
