Time, Closing That Glimpsing Eye - How We Observed the Time We Could Not See
Abstract
Abstract This paper presents a corrective framing of time as a structural consequence of existence beyond a categorical boundary denoted as Zero. Rather than treating time as a flowing backdrop measured by clocks, the paper argues that time is the ordering of structural change once gradients and distinguishability exist at non-zero separation from the Zerofield. Zero is defined not as a numerical value, but as a category shift in which ordering, memory and temporal concepts are undefined. Within this framework, the Planck scale is interpreted not as evidence of discrete time, but as a lower boundary of meaningful temporal ordering. The result is a coherent hierarchy Zerofield, Zero Boundary (Zero Hour) and time as countable change, that explains why human observational time is necessarily proxy based, why time cannot flow from Zero and why foundational time must be placed above the Zero Boundary rather than derived from motion or oscillation. Overview Human timekeeping has always been observational: first tied to the motion of the Sun and stars, later refined through mechanical clocks and atomic oscillations. While these methods have achieved extraordinary precision, they remain proxies measurements of regular behaviour rather than definitions of time itself. This paper argues that the root error lies in a category confusion. Time is not what we observe moving, it is the ordering of structural change that becomes possible only once existence is already beyond a fundamental existance boundary. That boundary is termed the Zero Boundary, separating the structured Universe from the Zerofield, a categorical limit in which gradients, ordering and temporal concepts are undefined. By treating Zero as a category shift rather than a numerical value, the paper places time strictly above Zero, not flowing from it and not existing within it. The Planck scale is then naturally interpreted as a lower limit of meaningful temporal ordering, rather than a claim of experimentally observed discreteness. The result is a simple and honest reframing: clocks remain indispensable tools, but time itself is the accounting of change at non-zero structural separation from Zero. This paper establishes a foundational placement of time that is consistent with modern physics while correcting long-standing observational assumptions.
