USING AI AND DIGITAL TOOLS FOR LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT
Abstract
The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in language education has grown quickly, bringing both new possibilities and challenges for students and teachers. This study looks into how AI-powered tools can help improve language skills in reading, listening, writing, and speaking. A qualitative approach was used to examine forty AI-supported tools, which were grouped based on their main purpose and features. These tools were chosen through a careful review of existing research, online platforms, and applications, with attention to factors like availability, cost, free features, and how well they support specific language skills. Each tool was closely analyzed and placed into different categories to show how they can be used in teaching. The results show that while AI tools can offer personalized learning experiences, detailed feedback, and interactive learning through different media, there are still issues like uneven accuracy, limited coverage of language skills, and ethical questions. This study provides useful advice for both teachers and learners, and suggests that more research should be done on how well these tools work for specific skills, how they should be used ethically, and their impact on learners at different levels of language proficiency.
