Abstract

The modern gig economy has inadvertently resurrected the logic of centralized planned economies, using algorithms to perform high-dimensional linear programming that dictates labor prices. This "Algorithmic Command" model leads to systemic exploitation by stripping workers of price-setting agency. We propose a transition to a decentralized Adaptive Liquidity-Robust Collective Auction framework (ALR-CA). By restoring price-setting agency through decentralized coordination, we can mitigate the systemic erosion of labor sustainability and create a more resilient, human-centric economic ecosystem.
