Abstract

Linitis plastica represents an extreme phenotype of gastric carcinoma characterized by diffuse infiltration, signetring cell morphology, and exceptional therapeutic resistance . Despite accounting for 7-10% of gastriccancers, LP exhibits disproportionately poor outcomes with 5-year survival rates below 10% [3]. The hallmarksignet-ring morphology results from massive intracellular mucin accumulation (60-70% cytoplasmic volume),which paradoxically serves both as defining characteristic and potential metabolic vulnerability.
