E Pluribus Unum: A Distributed Coherence Architecture for the Emergence of Collective General Intelligence
Abstract
This independent research manuscript develops *E Pluribus Unum*, a distributed coherence architecture aimed at the emergence of Collective General Intelligence (CGI). The work challenges prevailing computational paradigms by proposing that large-scale intelligence and coordination cannot be fully characterized as purely algorithmic phenomena, but instead emerge from geometric, topological, and dynamical coherence across interacting agents. The core contributions include: • Mathematical formalization of coherence structures, introducing the Hexastate as a relational model of experience and exploring 3-torus topologies as stability-preserving manifolds for distributed cognitive systems. • Engineering and physical architecture concepts, including the Geometric–Quantum Processing Unit (GCPU) and the Pluribus Field, leveraging integrated photonics, spatial light modulators (SLMs), and non-von-Neumann information flows. • An epistemological framework describing the potential transition toward collective epistemic agency, wherein human and artificial cognition operate as a coordinated system rather than isolated optimizers. This manuscript is presented as a foundational research program. The author invites universities, research institutions, and technological organizations to participate in mathematical validation, experimental prototyping, and ethical evaluation of the proposed architecture.
