Abstract

REVISION 2 - CORRECTED FORMULA & EXPERIMENTAL VALIDATION The Existence Threshold (v2) corrects a fundamental error in the original formula and provides comprehensive experimental validation achieving 100% classification accuracy across 10 cellular automata systems. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━KEY CHANGES IN VERSION 2━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ - Formula corrected: From Φ = κ·R·S - dD/dt to Φ = R·S + D (disorder as component, not enemy) - Experimental validation: 10 binary discrete dynamical systems (100% accuracy, 9/10 statistically significant) - Domain boundaries established: Framework works for binary discrete systems but fails for continuous systems - Honest assessment: Clear distinction between validated results and speculative applications ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━VALIDATION RESULTS━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Two-Dimensional Cellular Automata→ 5/5 systems, 100% accuracy→ All statistically significant (p < 0.05) One-Dimensional Cellular Automata→ 5/5 systems, 100% accuracy→ 4/5 statistically significant Perfect Threshold Separation→ Dead patterns: Φ = 0→ Alive patterns: Φ > 0→ No misclassifications ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━DOMAIN LIMITATIONS━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Framework FAILS for continuous dynamical systems:- Logistic maps: 80% accuracy (p = 0.08, not significant)- Neural networks: 86.8% accuracy (not significant) Clear boundary established: Framework applies specifically to binary discrete systems with well-defined state transitions, NOT continuous or analog systems. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━APPLICATIONS━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ This revision maintains the ambitious theoretical vision while grounding it in rigorous experimental evidence. Applications to neural consciousness and cosmological expansion remain preliminary hypotheses requiring future experimental validation.
