The Norma: A Unit of the Vacuum
Abstract
The Norma defines a natural system of units derived from the vacuum’s intrinsic properties.Three anchors set the scale: \( Z_0 = 1\,N \), \( m_e = 1\,E \), and \( e = 1\,T \). These formthe NET system (Norma–El(ectr)on–Tether (Thor)). From the electron anchor follow the spacetime units:\( 1\,\lambda = \hbar/(m_e c) \) and \( 1\,\tau = \hbar/(m_e c^{2}) \).The speed of light is the ratio \( c = 1\,\lambda\,\tau^{-1} \): one Compton per tick. The reduced Planck constant is fixed by the Alpha Connection:\( \hbar \approx 10.905\,N\,T^{2} \). The Triangle and Gyron define four dimensionless geometric quantities: vacuum weight \( W \),causal rate \( g \), interface extent \( X \), and geometric impedance \( Z \). The slip factor is\( S = 1 - X + \frac{3}{5}X^{2} \). These give the geometric fine-structure constant:\( \alpha = 5\sqrt{2\pi}\,S/(W\sqrt{Z}) \approx 1/137.036 \). The physical side, using the Norma anchors, is\( \alpha = Z_0 e^{2}/(4\pi\hbar) \).Geometry predicts \( \alpha \); anchors set the scale; action follows. This is the junction wherepure geometry becomes measurable. The five NET units are \( N, E, T, \lambda, \tau \). Their SI values are:\( 1\,N = 376.730\,\Omega \),\( 1\,E = 9.109\times10^{-31}\,kg \),\( 1\,T = 1.602\times10^{-19}\,C \),\( 1\,\lambda = 3.862\times10^{-13}\,m \),\( 1\,\tau = 1.288\times10^{-21}\,s \).Thus \( 1\,\lambda\,\tau^{-1} = 2.998\times10^{8}\,m\,s^{-1} \). The Gyron constraint is \( W X = q = 2\pi/\varphi^{2} \). The bridge law \( \alpha B g = 1 \),with \( B \approx 1.3914 \), closes the dynamical structure. The dimensionless gravitationalcoupling \( \tilde{G} = G m_e^{2}/(\hbar c) \) follows from the same geometric ingredients andmatches CODATA within experimental scatter. Particle masses (electron, muon, proton) appear as multiples of the elon \( E \). Dimensionlessconstants such as \( \varphi \), \( \pi \), \( \alpha^{-1} \), and \( \sin^{2}\theta_{W} \) arelisted with their geometric origins. Three anchors. Two scales. One speed. Five units.The universe measures itself. $$\Huge \varphi \looparrowleft \alpha \curvearrowleft \pi \looparrowleft \Omega$$
