Abstract

This monograph establishes a rigorous derivation of arithmetic Quantum Unique Ergodicity (QUE) for Hecke-Maass cusp forms on SL2(Z) H through the lens of subconvexity bounds for GL(3) GL(2) Rankin-Selberg L-functions. We analyze the mass equidistribution of eigenfunctions of the Laplacian in the high-energy limit, relating the variance of the quantum measure to the central critical values of the symmetric square L-function, L(1/2, sym2 f). By invoking the spectral reciprocity formulae and the delta-symbol method, we present a unified framework for breaking the convexity barrier for GL(3) automorphic forms in the spectral aspect. Specifically, we demonstrate that a subconvex bound of the form O((1+|t|)3/4 - ) for the degree-3 L-function implies the vanishing of the micro-local lift variance, thereby settling the QUE conjecture for this arithmetic subfamily. The exposition integrates recent advances in the circle method, shifted convolution sums, and the analytic theory of automorphic forms on higher-rank groups.
