Rather than representing decline or regression, descent is defined as an essential process through which expanded multilayer structures are re-integrated into sustainable and ethically stable order. The study identifies three stages of multilayer descent and clarifies the conditions necessary for safe return, including the existence of return routes and the role of multilayer ethics as a safety mechanism. It also addresses the structural risks associated with descent-resistant configurations, such as layer collapse and multilayer fragmentation.
