Abstract

[Abstract] On March 16, 2026, the interstellar object 3I/ATLAS will make its closest approach to Jupiter. This date marks exactly the 100th anniversary of Robert Goddard's launch of the world's first liquid-fueled rocket (March 16, 1926). The object's perihelion passage (October 29, 2025) coincides with the Galileo probe's Gaspra flyby (1991) and John Glenn's return to space (1998). Its closest approach to Earth (December 19, 2025) coincides with the return of Apollo 17 (1972). Furthermore, the number "19" appears repeatedly in its orbital coordinates (RA 19.67h, Dec -19.07° to +19.76°), resonating with the discovery date of 1I/'Oumuamua and key Apollo dates. This paper contrasts these spatiotemporal convergences with the "Monolith" concept in Arthur C. Clarke's 2001: A Space Odyssey, proposing the possibility that an interstellar object could "reference" human technological history. [Note on Prediction] This paper was published in January 2026, prior to the predicted Jupiter approach. It highlights the convergence of the object's trajectory with the Goddard Centennial (March 16, 2026) as a predictive synchronicity, rather than a retrospective analysis.
