Abstract

Title The Bonzie Biomechanical Overtake Model (BBOM): A Predictive Framework for Locomotion Efficiency and Overtake Probability Description This version presents a revised abstract and introduction with strengthened scientific framing of the Bonzie Biomechanical Overtake Model (BBOM). The model is now introduced using a declarative formulation consistent with established theoretical frameworks. The underlying equations, validation methodology, results, and conclusions remain unchanged. This version corresponds to the manuscript submitted for peer review at icSPORTS 2026. BBOM is applicable to: Human athletics and race strategy analysis Sports biomechanics and gait optimization Legged and aerial robotics Autonomous pursuit and interception systems Defense and security tracking scenarios Prosthetics and assistive locomotion research Keywords Biomechanics; Locomotion Modeling; Cadence Control; Overtake Prediction; Pursuit Dynamics; Robotics; Gait Analysis; Sports Science Resource Type Preprint / Model Description Funding No external funding was received for this work.
