Towards a Resilience Reasoning Engine: The Case for a Specialized Large Language Model for Human Survival and Crisis Management.
Abstract
This paper identifies a critical gap in human crisis response capabilities due to the overwhelming complexity of modern global threats. It proposes the urgent creation of a Resilience Reasoning Engine (RRE)—a specialized large language model designed exclusively for survival, crisis management, and civilizational recovery. Unlike general AI, the RRE would be trained on a rigorously verified knowledge base spanning survival engineering, disaster medicine, regenerative ecology, stress psychology, and foundational reboot technologies. The authors argue that the RRE would act as both a vital operational tool and a crucial cognitive safeguard for humanity—a modern, digital "Library of Alexandria" to preserve essential knowledge if civilizational continuity fails. The abstract outlines the model's proposed architecture, data needs, ethical considerations, and a validation pathway, framing the project as a necessary application of systems theory to build adaptive knowledge systems resilient to existential collapse.
