Abstract

A common anxiety accompanies the rise of generative AI: that machines willexhaust creative possibility, rendering human art redundant. This paper arguesthe opposite. Drawing on the Relational Emergence Systems framework(Ishibashi, 2026c), we demonstrate that meaning space is infinite--not merelylarge but genuinely unbounded. Stories, artworks, and emotional experiencescan be generated without limit because meaning emerges from relationalconfiguration, and the combinatorics of relations are inexhaustible. Crucially, AIcannot navigate this infinite space alone; it lacks the embodied intuition thatgrounds meaning in human experience. What AI provides is amplification: thecapacity to externalize, structure, and realize creative visions that previouslyremained trapped in tacit form. Billions of people carry unarticulated embodiedknowledge--craftspeople, caregivers, survivors, dreamers--who have lacked thetechnical means to give their understanding symbolic form. AI as groundedinterpreter (Ishibashi, 2026d) enables this externalization, promising not the endof human creativity but its unprecedented flourishing. The canvas is infinite; AI isthe amplifier that lets more humans paint on it.
