Abstract

This study examined the perceptions of Grade 12 ABM students of Muntinlupa National High School toward steamed potatoes as a healthy snack alternative. A quantitative-descriptive research method was used, and data were collected through a survey questionnaire administered to 184 respondents selected using stratified random sampling. The gathered data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including the mean and standard deviation. Results showed an overall mean of 3.54 (Strongly Agree), indicating that students have a highly favorable perception of steamed potatoes in terms of price, cleanliness, taste, and appearance. The study concludes that steamed potatoes are well-accepted due to their affordability, cleanliness, and nutritional value. It is recommended that future researchers explore new potato preparations and that schools offer steamed potatoes in canteens to promote healthy eating. The findings imply that nutritious yet affordable food options like steamed potatoes can enhance students’ health and academic performance.
