The Adelic Processing Unit (APU): Silicon Architecture for Non-Archimedean Intelligence
Abstract
Current AI hardware accelerators (GPUs/TPUs) are optimized for Archimedean arithmetic (R\mathbb{R}R, Float32), creating a fundamental bottleneck for rigorous reasoning tasks which inherently possess Non-Archimedean (ppp-adic) structures. This specification document defines the Adelic Processing Unit (APU), a novel processor architecture designed to execute the Ouroboros Protocol natively. Key architectural innovations include: Dual-Domain Cores: Integrating ∞\infty∞-Cores (Perception) and ppp-Cores (Logic). Fractal Interconnect: A physical layout isomorphic to the Bruhat-Tits tree to minimize logical latency. Hasse Principle Enforcement Unit (HPEU): A hardware-level circuit that validates the global consistency of the Adelic state, acting as a zero-latency guard against hallucinations. Holographic CRT Memory: A distributed storage system based on the Chinese Remainder Theorem. The APU represents the shift from matrix-multiplication-based empiricism to spectral-tree-traversal-based rationalism in AI compute.
