STUDY OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF WASTE GENERATED DURING POLYETHYLENE PRODUCTION AT THE SOCAR POLYMER PLANT
Abstract
This paper presents a detailed analysis of the environmental impact of high- and low-pressure polyethylene production processes. The composition of waste generated during the synthesis, polymerization, and granulation stages is investigated. Particular attention is paid to emissions of volatile organic and inorganic compounds, wastewater contamination with heavy metals, and the problem of microplastics in the form of industrial granules. An analysis of the qualitative and quantitative composition of gaseous, liquid, and solid waste was carried out.
