DEVELOPMENT OF NOVEL POLYAMINE COAGULANTS FOR WASTEWATER AND DRINKING WATER
Abstract
The purpose of the research work is to purchase new types of coagulants, which are more efficient, easy to produce and relatively cheaper than the coagulants used in the treatment of waste and drinking water. In the laboratory, new types of coagulants were synthesized from the reaction of various diamines such as ethylenediamine, diethylenetriamine, hexamethylenediamine with propylene oxide and epichloridine. During the synthesis, 4 types of coagulants were obtained. The effectiveness of coagulants in different doses was studied using the "Jar test" method and the Turbidometer device. By comparison, the most ideal type of coagulant was determined. The amount of nitrate and ammonium in the water treated with a new type of coagulant was measured and analyzed. Properties, structure and quality of the obtained coagulant were determined by IR spectrum.
