Abstract

This repository contains the computational model, simulation code, and supplementary materials for Micro-Labor Science over Daily and Weekly Cycles: Modeling Commute Load, Work Fatigue, and Recovery. The work develops a unified physiological framework that integrates metabolic load, autonomic activation, thermal strain, hydration dynamics, sleep-related recovery, and energy storage into a continuous-time model operating across both daily and weekly timescales. The model captures realistic human fatigue and recovery patterns under work–rest schedules, including commute periods, work blocks, breaks, lunch phases, and rest days. The repository includes the full Python implementation of the daily–weekly cycle simulation, along with documentation and parameter tables describing all state variables, circadian modulations, decay constants, hydration processes, task demands, and performance functions. The model is designed to support reproducible research, enabling users to explore how different schedules, workloads, and recovery opportunities influence physiological strain and performance capacity. This resource accompanies the associated preprint and provides all materials necessary to reproduce the figures, analyses, and simulations reported in the manuscript.
