It from Wave: A Trilogy Toward a Life OS From Machine-Based Worldviews to Resonant, Generative Reality
Abstract
This record serves as an overview and conceptual hub for a trilogy of papers developing the It from Wave paradigm and articulating a transition from a Machine OS to a Life OS worldview. Modern science and cosmology have largely operated under a machine-based framework in which reality is treated as a collection of discrete states evolving through linear time and sequential causality (It from Bit). While this paradigm has achieved extraordinary technical success, recent empirical results—particularly observations of extreme energetic activity in the early universe—have exposed its conceptual limits. The It from Wave framework proposed in this trilogy reframes reality as a resonant, generative process in which time, structure, and energy emerge through nonlinear synchronization, feedback, and phase coherence. Within this view, the universe is not a machine assembling itself step by step, but a living, dynamically coupled system whose early phases are characterized by intense generative activity. The trilogy consists of three mutually independent yet conceptually integrated papers: Conceptual FoundationA foundational work that critiques the It from Bit paradigm and reframes information, existence, and generation in terms of wave dynamics, resonance, and process ontology. Minimal / Generative ModelA theoretical study proposing minimal models for nonlinear generative time, resonance, and feedback, clarifying why linear causality and stage-based formation break down in complex generative systems. Applied Cosmological InterpretationAn interpretive analysis of recent cosmological observations—including the detection of extremely hot intracluster gas at redshift z = 4.3 reported in Nature (2026)—demonstrating how the It from Wave perspective naturally resolves anomalies that challenge standard Machine OS–based cosmology. Together, these papers articulate a unified research program in which cosmology, physics, and epistemology converge on a process-based understanding of reality. This overview record provides a stable reference point (Overview DOI) linking the trilogy as a coherent whole, enabling each paper to be cited both independently and as part of a larger conceptual framework.
