Baryogenesis from the Arrow of Time
Abstract
We study baryogenesis driven by an effective chemical potential sourced by early-Universe dynamics. We show that a purely oscillatory (zero-mean) chemical potential leads to parametric suppression of the net asymmetry under smooth freeze-out (adiabatic cancellation). A simple toy model yields an analytic low-pass transfer function F(x) = 1/sqrt(1 + x^2) capturing this suppression. We then propose an “entropy clock” source tied to thermodynamic irreversibility that can bypass the suppression.
