The Mpemba Effect as an Informational Curvature Relaxation Phenomenon. A TGIU Perspective on Thermal, Quantum, and Cognitive Systems.
Abstract
The Mpemba effect refers to the empirically observed phenomenon that, under certain conditions, a body of hotter water can freeze faster than an initially colder one. While inconsistent under purely thermodynamic interpretations, the effect finds a natural explanation within the \textbf{TGIU} framework, as an instance of \emph{nonlinear informational curvature relaxation}. Classically, this paradox arises because the cooling rate \(\dot{T} = -k(T - T_\mathrm{env})\) should always favor initially cooler samples. However, experimental studies and modern non-equilibrium thermodynamics \citep{Zhang2020Nature} demonstrate that in complex systems with multiple relaxation channels, an initially higher disequilibrium can relax faster to equilibrium.
