Reproduction package for "Effect of Local Crystallographic Texture on Near-Surface Residual Stress Variation in Machined Titanium"

The repository contains pre- and post-processing that enable reproduction of simulation results presented in the article (DOI: 10.1016/j.jmatprotec.2025.119153). The routines work best with version v3.0.2 of the multi-physics simulation package DAMASK. The second part of the simulation study with polycrystal requires computation of `W_p` that is not incorporated in the official distribution of DAMASK. Therefore, a patch is provided in the folder `patch_DAMASK` with instructions to compile DAMASK from source code. If you are just using the same set up as default, the results are already computed and stored in `Data/data_PX_w_macrozones.yaml`. The routines are primarily written in Python, with occasional use of shell scripts (Bash) for automation.
