Abstract

This Zenodo record contains an updated set of documents for the working paper “Gurmat‑Based Sikh Governance (v2.3)”, together with supporting materials intended for wider Sikh readership. What this record contains (files): The main working paper (v2.3) Executive Summary (v2.2) Briefing Note: The Sikh Gurdwaras Act, 1925 — what it is and why it matters (one page) Short analytical article introducing the working paper (for general Sikh readership) Purpose:This work is a principles‑first constitutional proposal written from a Gurmat perspective. It aims to clarify how Sikh doctrine/discipline legitimacy should be demonstrable through documented Gurmat process, while administrative trusteeship remains focused on operations (property/finance/compliance). The goal is not to issue hukam or Gurmatta, but to invite accountable, Gurbani‑anchored critique and improvement through representative deliberation. Change note (this update):This update includes wording/tone refinements to avoid unnecessary friction (including more respectful phrasing around the Panth‑approved Sikh Rehat Maryada) while preserving the core constitutional argument. A short terminology clarification is included where needed to prevent semantic derailments. How to engage / feedback requested:Readers are invited to respond with (1) agreement/disagreement on the root‑cause diagnosis, (2) non‑negotiable legitimacy standards for decisions claimed to bind Sikhs broadly, and (3) suggested amendments to strengthen Gurmat alignment and global credibility.
