Electric Fields as Physical Constraints A Non-Mathematical Analysis of Electric Interaction
Abstract
This paper presents a physics-only, non-mathematical analysis of classical electrostatic and quasi-static electric interaction. Electric fields are treated as physical constraints arising from the stored energy distribution of a closed charge configuration, rather than as agents that act on charges. Using only conservation laws, locality, causality, and thermodynamics, the paper shows that charged matter can evolve only along trajectories admissible within the system’s energy configuration. Motions inconsistent with this structure are physically unrealizable unless external work alters the system. The framework preserves all empirical content of classical electrostatics while eliminating unnecessary interpretive assumptions, reframing electric interaction as a problem of structural necessity rather than active enforcement.
