Electric Fields as Physical Constraints A Non-Mathematical Analysis of Electric Interaction
Abstract
This paper presents a non-mathematical, physics-based reinterpretation of classical electrostatics. Rather than treating electric fields as active agents that push or act upon charges, it argues that electric fields function as physical constraints defined by the structural configuration of charge and energy in the environment. Within the classical, macroscopic, electrostatic and quasi-static regime, charged matter evolves along trajectories that are consistent with this energy landscape without requiring any unobserved enforcement or corrective mechanism. The interpretation preserves all empirical predictions of standard electromagnetism while removing unnecessary agency-based metaphors, offering a parsimonious and operationally grounded account of electric interaction aligned with modern structural approaches in physics.
