FEATURES OF COMPUTER ADDICTION IN 13-15-YEAR-OLD TEENAGERS
Abstract
The article presents the results of an empirical study of the features of computer addiction in adolescents aged 13–15. The study was conducted at a secondary school and included 50 pupils divided into groups with and without addiction risk based on the results of the questionnaire by L. N. Yurieva and T. Yu. Bolbot. A set of methods was used to study communication skills, temperament characteristics, self-esteem, and parent-child relationships. It has been established that teenagers with a risk of computer addiction have a low level of communication skills, pronounced temperament accentuations, and an unfavorable perception of family relationships. The obtained data confirm the multidimensional nature of computer addiction and emphasize the need for its psychological prevention in the teenagers’ environment.
