Minimal-Symmetry Admissibility Regimes
Abstract
Admissibility and symmetry are routinely conflated in the analysis of complex and adaptive systems, leading to ambiguity in the interpretation of stability, equilibrium, and persistence. This paper separates admissibility, admissibility preservation, and symmetry as distinct structural objects and introduces a limiting admissibility regime in which no nontrivial symmetry preserves admissibility. This minimal-symmetry admissibility regime (MSAR) is defined independently of equilibrium, optimisation, or trajectory-level behaviour and is characterised both dynamically and through constraint-based formulations. MSAR is shown to be the extremal counterpart to equilibrium understood as admissibility collapse into symmetry, together bounding an axis of admissibility structure. The result is a first-principles characterisation of maximal admissibility selectivity under preserved viability.
