The Waltz: Λ Supplement to Mode Identity
Abstract
One postulate: S¹ = ∂(Möbius) ↪ S³, ∂S³ = ∅; The temporal edge bounds the dance floor, which embeds in the venue. The waltz is a single cosine standing‑wave: an expression through topology, appearing as the chronon on the edge and the neutrino on the dance floor. The wave carries both partners in pre‑realization. The chronon is the shortest phase advance that sets the resolution of time, Δθ = π/30, with minimum action ΔS = ℏπ/30. The neutrino is the lowest massive harmonic, μΛ ≈ 2.25 meV, shaped by the twist. Realization is an observational cost: a 3/2 price paid to sample the wave and convert the waltz to matter. Gravity is that geometric price; the cost of observing a 2D Möbius eigenvalue embedded in 3D orientability. Only when an observer realizes the mode does the waltz become time on the edge and mass on the floor. Black holes are nodes of the cosmic standing wave: positions where sampling ends but the topology does not break. The floor still hums at Λ, but the node cannot speak. The singularity is a zero‑crossing where information becomes inaccessible rather than destroyed. Latest derivation of this paper can be found at github.com/the-waltz v3 notes: black ∅ work likely breaking out as a separate paper for further development. The Waltz now hones in on whether all massless bosons share edge-only character. Masslessness may not be a property of the photon but a consequence of topological position: photons propagate on S¹ without transiting the Mobius surface, and therefore never incur the 3/2 realization cost that converts wave to mass.
