Green Synthesis of Iron Nanoparticles: A Comprehensive Review
Abstract
Materials science and technology, with the advent of nanotechnology, has brought about innumerable nanomaterials and multi-functional materials, with intriguing yet profound properties, into the scientific realm. The creation of novel nanocarriers that increase the bioavailability and therapeutic efficacy of herbal medications is one of the major advances made by nanotechnology in the realm of healthcare. Because of their versatile properties and improved performance over their parent material, nanoparticles (NPs) are important in technological breakthroughs. They are often produced by employing dangerous reducing chemicals to reduce metal ions into uncharged nanoparticles. However, several efforts have been made recently to develop green technology that produces nanoparticles using natural resources rather than hazardous chemicals. In green synthesis, biological methods are used for the synthesis of NPs because biological methods are eco-friendly, clean, safe, cost-effective, uncomplicated, and highly productive. The fundamental transition element that has been thoroughly observed, researched, and engineered is iron. Material scientists from all over the world have been drawn to investigate the healthful qualities of iron because of its capacity to be modelled into anything that can be used in everyday life with good aspects. The background, categorisation, and uses of nanoparticles and iron nanoparticles are summarised in this paper. Research on NPs in medicine, including as medication delivery and cancer treatment, is also continuing. NPs may also be employed in catalysis to increase the effectiveness of chemical processes.
