Structural Consistency in Linear A: A Phase-State Analysis of Hagia Triada Tablets
Abstract
This working paper presents a structural reinterpretation of a subset of Linear A inscriptions from Hagia Triada. Rather than pursuing phonetic or linguistic decipherment, the study introduces the Linear A Structural Framework (LASF), a non-phonetic, falsifiable model that analyzes glyph sequences through positional roles and structural transitions. Each analyzed inscription is parsed into distinct symbolic phases: openers, classifiers, internal operators, and closers. The paper hypothesizes that these patterns may represent a form of procedural notation, potentially encoding ritual, administrative, or instructional sequences. All sign sequences are drawn from standard corpus transcriptions (GORILA and established references), with images included for visual confirmation only. The LASF model does not claim definitive translation but offers a repeatable methodology to identify structural coherence within Linear A inscriptions, opening a path for future testing, refinement, or falsification.
