Bio-Inspired Mechanisms from DNA Processing for Enhanced Robustness and Security in Artificial Intelligence Systems
Abstract
Living systems achieve extraordinary genetic fidelity through multi-layered processes: DNA replication with proofreading, post-replication error correction, degenerate coding in protein synthesis, and dynamic gene regulation. These yield error rates of 1 in 10⁹–10¹⁰ bases under constant threats. This paper translates these mechanisms into AI architectures, proposing layered validation, consensus repair, redundant representations, and dynamic routing for superior robustness and security against adversarial attacks, poisoning, noise, and degradation.
