Quantum Fluctuations, Oscillation, and the Physical Meaning of Vacuum (msf:45650)
Abstract
The term quantum vacuum fluctuation is often interpreted as evidence that empty space spontaneously generates energy. This short conceptual paper offers a physically grounded clarification. It argues that observed vacuum fluctuations arise because physical fields, matter, and measurement devices are never perfectly static. Oscillation persists across all scales, and vacuum measurements inevitably include residual field activity, thermal motion, background radiation, and detector response. A brief bridge section introduces a resonance-based interpretation within USP Field Theory, where vacuum activity corresponds to residual frequency mismatch (Δf) rather than spontaneous energy creation. This perspective reframes vacuum behavior as a near-equilibrium physical state, not an empty or energy-generating void. The paper does not modify experimental results or conservation laws, but clarifies the physical meaning of vacuum fluctuations and their measurement.
