WAYS TO IMPROVE THE MECHANISMS FOR ATTRACTING FOREIGN CAPITAL IN COMMERCIAL BANKS
Abstract
This paper analyzes recent changes in the mechanisms for attracting foreign capital to commercial banks in emerging economies, with a particular focus on Uzbekistan. It examines how regulatory reforms, financial digitalization, ESG standards, and institutional quality influence foreign investors’ decisions and the structure of capital inflows. Using institutional analysis, policy review, and comparative methods, the study identifies key constraints on foreign capital integration, including regulatory uncertainty, governance weaknesses, and external risks. The paper argues that foreign capital should be evaluated not only in quantitative terms but also in terms of its functional contribution to technological upgrading, financial inclusion, and systemic resilience.
