tz-dev/PMS-ANTICIPATION: *PMS–ANTICIPATION v1.1.0 — Operational Examples and Formal Application Profile
Abstract
What's New in This Release (v1.1.0) This release extends PMS–ANTICIPATION from a purely theoretical paper to a fully operationalized application profile within the PMS ecosystem. It introduces five uniform, fully worked examples and a canonical YAML application profile, making anticipatory praxis structurally recordable, comparable, and auditable — without converting anticipation into prediction, authority, or action mandate. New in v1.1.0 1) Five Fully Worked Example Applications (MD + HTML) This release adds five structurally uniform example applications, each provided as: canonical Markdown source rendered HTML mirror All examples apply PMS–ANTICIPATION as a non-prognostic, non-psychological, non-coercive analysis framework. Included examples: AI Safety Regimes That Become Riskier After First Success Post-confirmation Ω-inflation and Ψ overbinding in anticipatory governance. Preventive Security Policy Without a Clear Adversary Λ-closure drift and probability-induced action compulsion. Organizations That Die from Too Much Prudence Χ overextension, Θ window collapse, and delayed action failure. Morally High Movements That End Up Coercive Moralization of uncertainty and anticipatory authority drift. Tragic Conflicts Misread as Failure Λ-misrecognition and illegitimate success metrics under irreversibility. Each example: remains scene-bound and reversible, uses reduced operator signatures (not proof chains), avoids person-level attribution, enforces Χ + reversibility + D as an application gate. 2) Introduction of pms-anticipation.yaml (Formal Application Profile) This release introduces pms-anticipation.yaml, a canonical PMS application profile for anticipation. The YAML file: depends strictly on PMS.yaml (schema_version: PMS_1.1), introduces no new operators, redefines no operator meanings or dependencies, formalizes anticipation using overlay-level constructs only. YAML feature extensions introduced in v1.1.0 The profile adds: Reduced signatures for: minimal anticipation (Δ + □ + Λ + Θ + Χ), viable anticipatory configurations (Δ–Ψ). Viability criteria independent of predictive success: Λ carried, not closed, Χ sustained under Θ pressure, Ψ binds the anticipator, not others, Ω handled without coercion. Formal invalidity markers (e.g. Λ→certainty, Ψ externalization, Ω instrumentalization). Contrast frames distinguishing: anticipation vs. prognosis, preparedness vs. authorization. Post-confirmation discipline rules, treating being right as a second-order risk. Minimal Application Protocol (MAP) enforcing scene-bounded, reversible use. This turns PMS–ANTICIPATION from a paper into a machine-legible, reviewable application layer. 3) Repository Structure Update The repository now includes: the paper in Markdown / HTML / PDF, shared presentation assets (css/, img/), the formal YAML application profile, an examples/ directory containing the five example applications (MD + HTML), a human-readable Model Specification (HTML + PDF) explaining the YAML structure. This aligns PMS–ANTICIPATION with the same artifact stack as PMS–CRITIQUE. Why This Release Matters This release operationalizes the paper's core claim: Anticipation is not prediction or action authorization — it is a present structural stance whose validity is tested by restraint. With v1.1.0: anticipation becomes structurally inspectable, not rhetorically defended, failure modes become predictable and nameable, not moralized, post-confirmation power drift becomes explicit, not accidental, restraint, distance, and self-binding become formal requirements, not virtues. The examples demonstrate that anticipatory failure is rarely about being wrong — it is about collapsing Χ, closing Λ, or externalizing Ψ under Ω and Θ. Backward Compatibility Fully compatible with v1.0.0 No breaking changes to: paper content, operator definitions, PMS dependencies. Adds new artifacts and formal structure only. Intended Audience (unchanged) Structural theorists Philosophers of action and responsibility Systems and governance researchers AI safety and AI governance researchers Readers familiar with PMS seeking a discipline of anticipation, not foresight advantage Status Conceptually complete Structurally operational Suitable for citation and peer discussion Zenodo DOI enabled for this release Citation When citing this release, please reference: PMS–ANTICIPATION T. Final Release Note PMS–ANTICIPATION v1.1.0 is hardest exactly where anticipation is most tempting: under pressure, under confirmation, under urgency, under asymmetry. Its contribution is not better foresight — but making betrayals of restraint structurally visible, documentable, and contestable.
