Abstract

MetaTime v35.6 provides a covariant Einstein-frame effective fieldtheory in which a Kaluza-Klein radion (Φ, with canonical field φ)controls a dark gauge sector and generates a late-time exchange Q(a)between two effective dark components: Latency ρ_L and Execution ρ_E(called “instantiated” in the base paper). The same radion history alsoimprints a redshift-dependent drift in the fine-structure constant αthrough a technically natural, sequestered kinetic-mixing portal, yielding a characteristic template Δα/α correlated with the dark-sectordynamics. This paper takes a disciplined philosophical step: itinterprets Latency as cosmic potential—an uninstantiated substrate ofpossibilities—and Execution as collapsed reality—the concretizedstream of experienced events. We propose the Consciousness Tether:biological consciousness acts as a localized boundary condition thatcouples to the 5D information cycle, selectively drawing Latency intoExecution. On this view the accelerating universe is not merelyexpanding; it is instantiating. We formulate falsifiable signatureslinking cognitive-like processing to α-drift and to the activation profileof Q(a), and we outline conceptual bridges between the hard problem ofconsciousness and the thermodynamics of information inhigher-dimensional effective field theory.
