Abstract

Black holes have always stood as one of the greatest enigmas of physics, where general relativity meets the deepest mysteries of the universe. The brilliant Stephen Hawking amazed us with his eponymous radiation, showing that these cosmic objects are not silent, but can emit thermal energy in their vicinity. Yet the big question remained: what is the mechanism that converts the state of matter at the singularity into this radiation near the event horizon? Here, the Energy-Phase Transition Theory we proposed provides the missing link. It shows that at Planck-scale densities, matter transforms into a non-directional energy phase, with the gravitational mass geometrically encoded on the event horizon. This insight opens the way to understanding how this geometrically stored energy can convert into tangible thermal radiation near the horizon. In this paper, we reveal the process: under inverse Planck pressure, the stored geometric energy transforms into intense thermal emission—what we call “Hawking’s Bomb”. This is not merely a new theoretical model; it completes Hawking’s original story, linking the geometry of black holes to observable phenomena, with testable predictions for gravitational waves and electromagnetic signals. Hawking’s Bomb represents a new chapter in understanding black hole dynamics, completing the journey that Hawking began decades ago, and opening exciting avenues for future discoveries.
