Time as a Non-Monetary Economic Primitive
Abstract
Abstract This working paper introduces time as a non-monetary economic primitive and proposes a formal, research-only framework for measuring human time as a unit of value without treating it as money, currency, or an investment instrument. The paper outlines the conceptual foundations of the Grand Time Protocol (GT 1.0), a spec-first economic model designed to operate alongside existing financial systems without competing with, replacing, or integrating into monetary infrastructures. The framework is intentionally non-commercial, non-investment, and non-production. It focuses on formal definitions, boundary conditions, security assumptions, and verification logic for decentralized time accounting. Artificial intelligence is explicitly excluded from value creation or time measurement and is limited strictly to defensive roles such as anomaly detection and fraud prevention. This publication serves as a research artifact, authorship timestamp, and architectural reference intended for academic discussion, critical review, and future interdisciplinary research at the intersection of economics, systems theory, and decentralized computation.
