A Proposed Mechanism for Anesthetic Action Based on Dicke Model Scaling: Theoretical Framework
Abstract
We propose a physical mechanism for anesthetic-induced loss of consciousness based on the recently discovered universal scaling law of information fragmentation (α = -1.36). By applying the Dicke Hamiltonian to microtubule-based tryptophan networks, we demonstrate that consciousness corresponds to a coherent phase (α ≈ 0), while anesthesia triggers a catastrophic phase transition to a fragmented phase. This manuscript provides the biological and clinical implications of the numerical discovery reported in Omandac (2026), offering a quantitative bridge between quantum substrate dynamics and phenomenological collapse.
