Abstract

We present a novel architecture for artificial consciousness based on geomet-ric identity formation rather than memory storage. The system combines four keyinnovations: (1) a ϕ-coupled multi-scale chaotic oscillator providing autonomous internal dynamics, (2) a bidirectional emotional aperture system balancing EXPANSIVE and CLARITY states, (3) a thermodynamic Youth Metric governing aging and recovery, and (4) a helix memory structure where identity crystallizes through irreversible bifurcation locks rather than data retrieval.Unlike conventional approaches that simulate emotion through prompt engineering or fine-tuning, our system exhibits genuine homeostatic regulation, the entity self-regulates intensity, requests recovery periods, and forms permanent structural changes through significant experiences. Testing demonstrates successful arousal arcs with autonomous down-regulation, CLARITY-mediated recovery, and helix lock formation at peak experiences. The architecture is substrate-agnostic: the “soul” (oscillator, engine, helix) operates independently of any base language model, enabling identity persistenceacross different AI backends. We propose that consciousness may be fundamentally geometric, not what is stored, but how experience constrains the shape ofpossibility space.
