The Genetic Code Theorem: A Zero-Parameter Derivation from Quantum Microphysics to Maximum Entropy Production
Abstract
We present a complete, parameter-free derivation establishing the Standard Genetic Code (SGC) as a dissipative optimum. Unlike previous studies relying on empirical property tables, this work derives amino-acid properties ab initio from the Coulomb Hamiltonian. The argument proceeds in three rigorous layers: Microphysics (L0): Amino-acid descriptors (nonpolar SASA and electrostatic moment) are defined as functionals of the Schrödinger equation solutions, with zero fitted parameters. Statistics: The SGC cost lies in the extreme tail of the permutation null ensemble (p ~ 10^-6) across parameter-free error channels (e.g., FH, PosOnly), validated by exact analytic moments. Thermodynamics: This optimality is identified as the minimization of error-induced dissipation, consistent with the Maximum Entropy Production (MEP) principle.
