Abstract

Chronic burns are a medical challenge that requires innovative solutions for monitoring and accelerating healing. Sensguard comes as a smart bandage equipped with advanced sensor technology, including a temperature sensor (DHT11), pH sensor (pH-4502C), and moisture sensor. This technology detects the condition of the wound in real time, providing the necessary information for proper treatment. The data collected by Sensguard is analyzed using an Artificial Neural Network (ANN), which shows high performance with accuracy reaching 91%. The system development process involved installing the sensors on an ESP8266 microcontroller, arranging the components into a protective box, and coding to integrate the data with Internet of Things (IoT)-based Smart Apps. Sensguard not only improves the effectiveness of chronic burn management, but also contributes significantly to improving the quality of life of patients. This innovation supports medical personnel in providing more responsive and personalized care, making Sensguard a leading solution in chronic burn management. Keywords: artificial neural network, chronic burn wounds, smart dressing
