Abstract

This technical report introduces ATOMiK (Atomic Transition-Oriented Machine with integrated Kernel), a novel computing architecture that reformulates computation as a sequence of deterministic state transitions rather than the storage of persistent state. ATOMiK replaces traditional memory-centric execution with register-local bit algebra, encoding spatiotemporal computation into fixed-width atomic units and representing execution exclusively through lossless deltas. By operating entirely on transition data, the architecture enables stateless computation that is fully reconstructible while eliminating the need to store semantic state at rest. The report presents a concrete, working proof-of-concept demonstrating real-time performance, exact replay, and substantial reductions in bandwidth and data movement using only register-level operations. Experimental results validate the feasibility of lossless stateless execution and highlight implications for latency reduction, energy efficiency, hardware-level security, edge computing, and decentralized systems. ATOMiK establishes a foundation for future low-level implementations, including hardware-native execution units, operating system kernels, and secure distributed computation frameworks. This document is intended to establish prior art and a technical baseline ahead of subsequent patent filings and system-level implementations.
