Existential Record Gravity (ERG)
Abstract
We propose Existential Record Gravity (ERG), a framework in which ``reality'' is not taken as a primitive but emerges when informational possibilities become stabilized as shareable records. ERG models the substrate as an information state space (including quantum states), and the experienced classical world as arising through a projection/structuring map. We define existence-strength as a function of record properties---stability, redundancy, and accessibility---capturing why some states are felt and treated as ``more real'' than others. ERG's main thesis is that gravity/spacetime is privileged not merely as a force in space but as a universally coupled record-frame constraint: because gravity couples to energy--momentum, record formation and intersubjective objectivity cannot be fully decoupled from spacetime constraints (causal structure, geometry, localization, persistence). A secondary thesis connects gravity to boundary/entropy information budgets that limit record capacity and persistence in bounded regions. ERG remains agnostic about specific micro-mechanisms (e.g., gravitational classicality enhancement), treating them as optional implementations rather than axioms. We provide an information-theoretic formulation, operational proxies, two case studies (AI tokenization and human cognition), and an evaluation plan with falsifiable hooks.
