**Age Is Not Intelligence: Why Continuity Depth Separates Humans from Artificial Intelligence**
Abstract
Artificial Intelligence is frequently evaluated and compared to human intelligence using metrics such as processing speed, training duration, data volume, and chronological development time. This paper argues that such comparisons overlook the most fundamental variable underlying intelligence, emotion, and meaning: continuity depth. While machines operate within linear, resettable time, human cognition is embedded in an unbroken biological and evolutionary history spanning billions of years. Using the TM–BM (Temporary Memory–Bold Memory) framework, this article demonstrates that meaning and emotion do not emerge from data processing alone, but from resonance with deep, cumulative continuity. This distinction defines the true boundary between artificial and biological intelligence.
