A new systematics of silica in a palaeohistological approach. Division into geogenic and biogenic silica. Silica as a Natural Long-Term Storage Device. A Biomimetic Approach to Information Armor.
Abstract
This monograph presents a groundbreaking redefinition of silica (SiO_2) systematics, shifting from purely crystallographic descriptions to a palaeohistological and informational paradigm. The author introduces the concept of the "Information Armor" (Pancerz Informacyjny) and the division into Geo-Silica (abiotic) and Bio-Silica (matrix-driven). By analyzing unique specimens from the Silesian region (Poland), the work demonstrates that biogenic silica acts as a Natural Long-Term Storage Device. Through a Biomimetic Approach, the study reveals how mineral matrices "log" biological data with molecular precision (High Fidelity), preserving complex structural information for millions of years. This theory bridges the gap between mineralogy and information physics, proposing silica as a master model for future enduring data storage technologies.
