DEVELOPING COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE THROUGH WRITING SKILLS
Abstract
Developing communicative competence is one of the main objectives of modern language education. Writing skills play a significant role in achieving this goal because they allow learners to express ideas clearly, reflect critically, and use language creatively in different contexts. This paper explores the relationship between writing skills and communicative competence, emphasizing how writing activities contribute to learners’ linguistic, sociolinguistic, discourse, and strategic abilities. The article also discusses pedagogical strategies that enhance communicative competence through writing instruction and highlights the importance of meaningful, context-based writing tasks in language classrooms.
