Abstract

This project presents the design and development of a Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV)Wireless Charging System integrated with Phase Change Material (PCM) for enhanced thermalmanagement and safe charging operation. The system uses a BIPV solar panel to harvestrenewable energy and supplies power to a wireless power transfer (WPT) unit, enabling contactlesscharging of drone batteries and portable electronic devices. A microcontroller-based control unitmonitors key parameters such as battery voltage, temperature, and charging status using sensors. The incorporated PCM absorbs excess heat generated during charging and releases it gradually, thereby maintaining safe operating temperatures and improving battery life. An LCD and voltagedisplay provide real-time system information, while a relay-based control mechanism enablesautomatic and efficient charging. By integrating renewable energy, wireless charging, and thermalmanagement using PCM, the proposed system offers a safe, efficient, and sustainable solutionsuitable for smart buildings, drone charging stations, and IoT applications.
