On the Impossibility of Energy-Flux Sealing and Regularity of the Navier–Stokes Equations
Abstract
This work proposes a structural mechanism excluding finite-time blow-up in the three-dimensional incompressible Navier–Stokes equations. The argument is based on the non-occurrence of energy-flux sealing, defined as a hypothetical dynamical state in which nonlinear energy transfer becomes persistently confined within vanishing spatial scales. Energy-flux sealing is formulated in operational terms, and its necessary conditions are shown to be incompatible with intrinsic conservation laws, scale interactions, and temporal averaging properties of the Navier–Stokes system. This preprint is intended for external verification and focused discussion, and does not claim a complete or prize-eligible proof.
