Abstract

This contains all the necessary scripts for running and analysing the atmospheric model ICON (version 2.6.5-nwp1b with upper atmosphere extension) coupled to the Multi-Scale Gravity Wave Model (MS-GWaM) from Banerjee, T. (2025). Multi-Scale Gravity Wave Model (MS-GWaM) with Turbulence Coupling to Community Climate Model ICON (1.5.5). Zenodo. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.16910865. The scripts are as follows: Banerjee_GW_Turb_ensemble_run.sh - can be used to launch an ensemble run Banerjee_GW_Turb_TEM.zip - can be used to do transformed eulerian mean postprocessing including readme and settings Banerjee_GW_Turb_Plot_A.py - can be used to generate all the flow field related plots Banerjee_GW_Turb_Plot_B.py - can be used to generate all the transformed eulerian mean related plots Additionally, in the updated version, new editions of the Plotting Scripts A and B are provided which correctly calculates the statistitcal significance without assuming equal variance.
